Kensington Townhouse

Residential
London

Our aim was to tell a story around the heritage of Kensington and surrounding areas using original antiquarian prints. In addition the client had an existing collection of contemporary and mid century artworks.

A set of 12 mezzotints of Italianate views by Piranesi hang in sets in the entrance hall. Rare Andrea Palladio steel engravings of architectural plans hang in sets up the ground floor staircase. All are framed in antique black and gilt with original ripple glass. Early Victorian lithographs of colourful hummingbirds hang alongside parrots with original colour and all framed in English Oak.

Many of the walls of the house are panelled so a number pieces were sourced and framed to fit within the confines of the panel moulds, and then lit with traditional brass picture lights.
