For George Club, we created a series of bespoke oil paintings that playfully yet faithfully reimagine some of the most iconic paintings of the 19th century with the addition of a four-legged companion.
<p>Created as an homage to the original masters – whether the quiet poetry of Van Gogh or the luminous pointillism of Seurat – each work incorporates a dog painted in the visual language of the artist, woven seamlessly into the composition.</p>
<p>The challenge and joy lay in honouring the integrity of each original style, ensuring that the dog all feel as though they belong. In some works, the dog’s presence is immediately apparent; in others, it reveals itself slowly.</p>
<p>Artworks compliment the clubs existing collection of paintings featuring dogs, all presented in a selection of carefully curated antique frames. The final collection displayed is a celebration and a doth of the hat to the enduring brilliance of these masters.</p>
